What's the difference between After Effects MCP and AE Agent?
After Effects MCP is an MCP server you connect to an external AI client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf…) — 220+ tools, billed monthly or annually. AE Agent is a chat panel that lives inside After Effects with its own UI — 50+ tools, a one-time $29 purchase. They're independent products; you can use either or both.
Which AI clients are compatible?
Any MCP-compatible client: Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, Continue, and more. It works out of the box by adding your license key to the client's config.
Which versions of After Effects are supported?
All versions from AE CS6 through After Effects 2026. Tools are written in compatible ExtendScript — no extra plugins or CEP panels required.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes — monthly plans can be cancelled at any time and you keep access until the end of your billing period. Annual plans are non-refundable after 7 days.
