What is Synthetic?

Synthetic builds tools that let AI actually operate Adobe After Effects — creating comps, adding layers, applying effects, setting keyframes, managing the render queue — instead of just generating scripts for you to run.

There are two ways to use it. The After Effects MCP is an MCP server you connect to an external AI client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, …). The AE Agent is a panel that lives inside After Effects with its own chat — no external client needed.

Both talk to After Effects via ExtendScript, so they work across After Effects versions without extra render plugins.
