Midokoro for Premiere

FAQ

Short answers to the most common questions.

Does my video go to Synthetic?

No. The analysis, the framing, the subtitles, and the clips all happen on your computer.

What does Synthetic receive?

Your license key, the name and an identifier of your computer, and the panel version, to check your license and the 1-computer limit, and to deliver the engine and updates. See the privacy policy.

What do the services I connect receive?

  • The transcription service: the audio you ask to transcribe. If you load a transcript of your own, nothing is sent.
  • The review AI: text excerpts from the transcript and the candidate moments. Never the video or images.
  • With a subscription or with Ollama: the same, but through the official program or your own computer; Midokoro never sees your account.

Each service handles that data according to its own terms.

Does it need an internet connection?

To activate and renew the license (up to 7 days offline), to install the engine, and for the services you connect. If you load a transcript of your own and don't use the AI review, analyzing a local file works without internet.

How many computers can I use?

One license is activated on 1 computer. To change it, release the current one in Dashboard → Licenses and activate the new one.

Which versions of Premiere Pro work?

Premiere Pro 24.0 or later, on 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, or on macOS 13 or later (beta).

Does it work on Mac?

Yes, in beta: macOS 13 or later, on Apple Silicon or Intel. It installs the same way as on Windows (ZXP Installer or Synthetic Setup) and the panel installs the engine and FFmpeg for you, with your permission. On Intel Macs, following the speaker uses the voice and the position of the faces. If something doesn't work, write to us from your account.

How long does it take?

It depends on the length, the transcription service, and the AI you use. Searching with an API is the fastest; with a subscription it can take several times longer. Following the speaker in fast mode is usually much quicker than the length of the video, and the detailed mode takes longer. The panel shows an estimate and you can keep working in Premiere meanwhile.

Can I transcribe in another language?

Yes, as long as the service you choose supports it. The titles and sentences of the moments come out in the same language as the excerpt.

I got fewer moments than I asked for

That's on purpose: Midokoro only keeps the ones that really stand out and doesn't pad the list. Try a shorter clip, another length range, or Look harder (a gentler bar).

Can I use the clips on any network?

Yes. The clips are Premiere sequences: you export them like any other. Midokoro doesn't publish for you.

Where do I ask for help?

See Troubleshooting or write to support.
