AE Bridge · Configuration
Connect and send
Once it is installed there is nothing to configure: open the programs you want to use and AE Bridge connects them.
1. Connect your programs
- Open the programs you want to use together, for example Figma and After Effects. AE Bridge connects them by itself; you do not need all five.
- Open the AE Bridge panel in the program you are working in. At the top you see the logos of the five programs, and each one shows whether it is open or closed.
- Click the logo of the program you want to talk to: it becomes the selected one. Below, an animation of the handoff plays in both programs while a selection travels.
2. Send or bring a selection
Select your artwork in the program you are in and use the panel's buttons:
Send
Select something and press the button to send it to the program you chose. It arrives rebuilt with native layers: vectors, editable text, gradients, strokes and images.
Bring
Prefer to pull? In the program where you want the artwork, press the button to bring the selection from the chosen program. It works the same way, in the other direction.
Update what you already sent
Use the “Update layers already sent” option and send again: AE Bridge replaces the layers you sent before instead of piling up copies, and keeps the animation, effects and timing you added in After Effects.
Rasterize
Turn it on to send the selection as an exact image, for those looks that cannot travel as layers. Choose how it arrives: Layers, Images or One image (the whole selection in a single image).
Several Figma frames
Select several frames in Figma and send them to After Effects as separate comps, as a sequence, as layers or all together on one big canvas.
Masks, shadows and blurs
Masks and clipping arrive as native After Effects masks and mattes. Shadows and blurs from Figma, and styles and adjustment layers from Photoshop, become layer styles and effects.
Image scale and assets folder
Choose the image scale from 1x to 4x. If you want, AE Bridge also saves the images in an “AE Bridge assets” folder next to your project.
3. Premiere Pro
Premiere Pro receives the design in a new sequence, as pictures: one video track per layer, each in its place with its opacity and blend mode. In this version text arrives as a fixed picture, not as editable text. Premiere Pro can also send its clips to After Effects.
4. Settings
Press the gear in the panel to open Settings:
