Midokoro for Premiere

Install and activate

Install the panel in Premiere Pro, activate it with your license key, and let it download its analysis engine.

Install the panel

1

Download the installer

In your Synthetic account, go to Dashboard → Downloads and download the .zxp file for Synthetic Midokoro for Premiere.
2

Install it

Double-click the file with ZXP Installer (it's free). If you don't have it, install it first.
3

Restart Premiere Pro

Close it completely and open it again.
4

Open the panel

In the Window → Extensions menu, choose Synthetic Midokoro for Premiere. You can dock it next to your timeline.

Install on Mac (beta)

Midokoro for Premiere also works on Mac with macOS 13 or later, on Apple Silicon or Intel. It is in beta: try it and tell us how it goes.

1

Download and install the panel

Same as on Windows: download the .zxp file from Dashboard → Downloads and install it with ZXP Installer, or let Synthetic Setup install it for you.
2

Restart Premiere Pro and open the panel

Close Premiere completely, open it again, and choose Window → Extensions → Synthetic Midokoro for Premiere.
3

Activate and install the engine

Paste your key, click Install the engine (the panel automatically picks the right engine for your Mac), and agree to install FFmpeg when it asks.
On Intel Macs, the engine follows the speaker by voice and face position; reading mouth movement is available on Apple Silicon Macs.

Activate your license

The first time, the panel asks for your license key. You can find it in your account, under Dashboard → Licenses. Paste it and click the button to activate: the panel downloads its app and is ready.

One license is activated on 1 computer. To use it on another one, release this one from Dashboard → Licenses and activate it on the new one.

The panel renews your computer's authorization on its own while you are online. If you lose your internet connection, it keeps working for up to 7 days with the last authorization; after that, it needs to connect once to renew it.

Install the analysis engine

The audio and video analysis is done by an engine that runs on your computer. After activating, the panel offers Install the engine. It downloads about 50 MB (about 130 MB once installed), checks that the file is authentic, unpacks it, and tests it. This only happens the first time: after that it starts on its own.

When there is a new version of the engine, the panel lets you know ("A new version of the engine is available") and you install it with Update the engine.

FFmpeg

Midokoro needs FFmpeg to read your videos. If it isn't on your computer, the panel tells you and asks for permission: if you accept, it installs it with Windows Package Manager (winget install Gyan.FFmpeg). Nothing else is changed.

On Mac, the panel installs it with Homebrew (brew install ffmpeg-full), also with your permission. The full version (ffmpeg-full) is required because it includes the component that draws styled subtitles. The first time can take several minutes, because Homebrew installs several components. If you don't have Homebrew, the panel shows you the steps to install it from brew.sh.

Updates

The app inside the panel updates itself while you are online. If you ever need to reinstall the panel, it will let you know.

After installing

Connect your services in Connections and try Find the best moments.
